Regardless of literally every other rule, there is only one true golden rule of YouTube: > Focus on viewer satisfaction. I don't even mean this in a vague artistic sense or from a place of idealism. Of course, making the best video possible is a wonderful goal in itself. But in terms of hardcore optimisation, it's more that every single YouTube parameter that you can optimise for boils down to optimising for this one thing.* Of course, the real juicy bits of how to do that are in the nitty gritty details of how you do that. If I were to condense *that* down into a single concept, it's about understanding every aspect of how humans react to things. *(apart from total addressable market i.e. how many people in the world would want to watch your particular kind of video, which is reality dependent rather than algorithm dependent)
